Helena Albert studies the dynamics of the processes occurring inside volcanoes to understand how they may lead to volcanic eruptions. This includes the magma reservoir, magma intrusion, crystallization and convection, and volatile degassing in volcanic conduits.  She is an expert in determining time scales of magmatic processes.
